Shriya Hari is an experienced community based researcher and sexual health promoter based in Toronto Ontario. She is the Community Team Lead and Writer at nuance, a digital platform which aims to diversify the sexual health conversation by featuring immigrant youth perspectives on sex, sexuality, sexual health, and relationships. She also works as the Community Development and Volunteer Coordinator at the Alliance for South Asian AIDS Prevention (ASAAP), where she was also the Research Coordinator for a short term project exploring the effectiveness of culturally relevant stories in increasing sexual health knowledge and decreasing HIV stigma in South Asian communities.
She holds a Bachelor’s in Science (Hons, 1st Class) from McGill University in Anatomy and Cell Biology. In her spare time, she writes poetry, tutors health sciences for midwives, nurses, and pre-med students. In her natural habitat, you can find her sketching, writing at her blog, or playing with her two plump cats Cassie and Polly, named for the Gemini twins.
