Many of us come to learn about sex through formal sex education, peer learning, and the media. Western cultures teach about sexuality as an active experience centering whiteness, cis-hetero-patriarchies, Catholicism, and Eurocentric models of health and wellness. As a result of this limited and exclusionary frame, many of us have internalized shame as part of our sexual learning. How do you find sexual self acceptance when your sexuality is different than these standards? In this session, attendees will begin the process of unlearning shame and explore the ways in which decolonizing our sexuality can bring sexual freedom and pleasure.
