What is ableism? It is found in crowded access elevators and inaccessible shops. It is found in the labour market and social assistance programs. It’s in our attitudes and expectations about ability, our ideas about inspiration, and the stories we tell on the news. It’s in who we see as sexual or beautiful and who we see at all. It’s in people asking if ableism is actually a real thing. Ableism is very real and this presentation seeks to explore it from micro to macro.
