For immediate release:
Toronto, ON – The Playground Conference, Toronto’s only yearly intersectional, sex-positive, and educational social gathering, has announced that they are taking a break from a conference format, after a successful 5 years.
Instead of returning in 2016 with another conference weekend, Playground will move to host quarterly events featuring both local and international sex and sexuality educators and activists. These sessions will be held in the evenings in Toronto, beginning in Spring 2016. The conference may return in 2017, but this is not yet decided.
After starting in 2011 with just over 85 people at the Gladstone Hotel in 2011, Playground’s 5th anniversary, this past November 13-15, had over 310 attendees from a wide range of backgrounds, races, genders, and sexualities.
Over the years the speaker list has included guests such as Reid Mihalko, Dr. Jess O’Reilly, Mollena Williams, Sunny Megatron, Dr. Stephen de Wit, Jeff Perera, Francisco Ramirez, Sonya JF Barnett, and many more.
